What are SPOUSE VISAS ? This visa is for an applicant whose partner is an Australian citizen or permanent resident.
A partner may apply for partner visas on the basis of a genuine married or de facto relationship.
The Australian partner, spouse, must sponsor their partner.
If granted a provisional partner visa, the spouse or de facto partner may enter and remain in Australia.
Providing the relationship with their Australian partner continues to meet the criteria of the visa, provisional visas are held for two years from the date of the visa applied or until the permanent visa is approved.
